§ 3-11. Juror per diem and mileage fees.

  • (a)

    Persons whose names appear on any legal and authorized grand jury or petit jury list of the County shall receive the following per diem fees:

    (1)

    When a person fails to attend court: None.

    (2)

    When a person attends court and is excused for any reason from serving as a juror: Fifteen dollars ($15.00).

    (3)

    When a person has been sworn touching their qualifications to serve as a juror and has been accepted by the court as qualified: Fifty dollars ($50.00) per day.

    (b)

    All persons summoned, whether selected or not, shall also be entitled to reimbursement for mileage from his or her home by the most direct and practical route at the rate per mile that is established by the Quorum Court for County employees. The mileage reimbursement shall not be made to jurors whose primary place of residence is inside the city limits of Fayetteville, Arkansas, pursuant to Act 1033 of 2007, as it is the city where the courts are located.

    (c)

    This Section will be in effect on January 1, 2008, the effective date of Act 1033 of 2007.
